Where were we on September 11, 2001?

Please bare in mind that I do not mean to demean the victims or survivors of the 11/9/01 attack, but this was a topic of conversation this evening after our weekly moving viewing. (This weeks viewing: "The Ninth Gate". Very Polanski-ish.)

L: So where were you on September 11?
Me: I was playing Poogle on Neopets.
E: I was watching the news.
L: I was asleep.
Me: Dad rang me on my mobile, and I had the stereo on. He was very agitated, and kept screaming about bombs and buildings and explosions, so I thought he was watching a Bruce Willis movie or something.
L: *rolls*
Me: He kept saying "This is important!" and I was playing Poogle and said "But so is this!"
L and E: *hysterics*
E: Well, we know where Star's priorities lie. NOT in the real world.
Me: It wasn't until I checked my email the next morning and there was all this stuff in my inbox about the New York bombings that I turned on the TV and went "Oh. It wasn't a movie. Fuck!"
L and E: *more hysterics*
